I think that Sal's mother left them because she was tired of them . Or she might have left because something was hurting her and she didn't want them to know or have it hurt them .
Orlando, that is an interesting thought. Why do you think she was tired of them? Is that a typical reason for a mother to leave? What evidence leads you to think she was hurting in some way? Remember, your answers need to be text based.
I think that Sal's mother was motivated to leave because Sal and/or her dad were bugging her. Another reason that she might have left was she wanted to visit someone in private. My last reason is that she wanted to see different scenery.
Sal's mother could have left for many reasons. She could have left because of Sal and her father. She could have left for religious reasons. Maybe she was looking for something in Idaho. Whatever the reason, I believe that she left for a good reason and that Sal and her father could calm down and hope that her soul can go to rest.
I agree with you a lot Orlando, maybe something was bothering Sal's mother so much, that it caused her to move away and kill herself, making it look like someone killed her.
I think that Sal's Mother had left her family for many reasons. First, I think that Sal's mother had left her because she thought that having a child was a big responsibility for a young women to do. It was that that made her kill herself when Sal was young. She thought that she couldn't be a good mother. She regretted having a child, and killed herself do death so that she didn't have to the care of her.
I agree with you Orlando because there must be a million of reasons why Sal's mother left her family. She might of been tired of them for many thing. Maybe she was tired of brushing Sal's long hair, or had to deal with some other stuff. Orlando, you make a realy good point.
I think Sal's mom was feeling Uncomfortable because she wasn't a Hiddle like Sal's grandparents,Sal's dad, and Sal. Maybe Sal's mother moved to Idaho because wanted to try living somewhere else. Another reason she maybe felt like she wasn't needed in the family.
I think that she went away to clear her mind because Sal said that her moms bus made tourist stops. she said when she was at a tourist stop. Sal's mother might have went to clear her mind to get away and try to more a Hiddle.

I agree with Juan's answer because people do leave home to clear their head sometimes. I think that she did this because being a parent brings a lot of pressure. Sometimes people need a break from reality.
I think that Sal's mother left home because she couldn't take care of Sal so she committed suicide so she can end it all. Another reason she left is because she thought that her husband and her daughter were better off without her. She probably left because someone was harming her and she didn't want her loved ones to get hurt.
If you said that Sal's mother committing suicide was the answer to her troubles, then how would she had left without hurting her loved ones as you stated in the last sentence?
I agree with Mason because it takes a lot of responsibility to take care of a child. I think Sal' s mom left to clear and refresh en her mind. My mom would take off for awhile, but no more than a couple of days because she has more than just me. Sal's mom just might of needed more than a month or two because being a mother for the first time with out haveing experience it can be dificulte taking care of a child for the very first time.
I think Sal's mom left because Sal or the Dad were bugging her. Another reason Sal's Mom left is that she wanted to look for something somewhere else, like a present or clothes. I also think that she had a fight or something when she was out and did not want to talk to anyone.

I think Sal's mom left because she wanted to have some time off of responsibilities and or wanted to do something special for her family that she couldn't to where she was living.
In my opinion, I feel like Salamanca's mother just wanted to get away from things. I wouldn't say she was sick of them, for in the story it shows that there is a powerful bond between Salamanca and her mother, Salamanca's mother could've just been bored and wanted to go into the unknown. One of the burdens of having a child is the disadvantage of living your own life, so maybe Salamanca's mother just wanted to go live the life she possibly never had.
I agree with Hunter because I think she needs to have some alone time. She might have to get something, and it might of been something where she was out of her house. It might not even be a bad thing she might come back and just need fresh air alone.

Sal's mother most likely left her home because she wanted to think about how she has struggled to live up to the expectations of being a Hiddle or mother and wife. In the book, she says "You Hiddles are a mystery to me. I'll never be a true Hiddle." Sal says that her mother says this is a way that makes her seem as if she were sorry and has failed to be a good mother because Hiddles are so interesting and fun to be around. Her mother also suffered a miscarriage and being in that position would make you feel like you want to grieve alone and not have any of the people you love see you like that.
A possibility might be that Sal's mother left her behind because she thought she was not worthy of being in the family. She thought that Sal liked her father more than her and might have made up the trip just to get away. She might have also gotten very depressed and felt like she was never meant to be a true Hiddle.
What I think that Sal's mother left because for many different reasons we don't know. Like one could be that Sal and/or her father caused an annoyance to her that made her mother leave. Another could be that something in Idaho is making her go there like Sal's mother could be visiting someone or something else.
I think that Sal's mother left, because she wanted to think about everything that was happening in her life at time. I also think that she left, because there was a problem in the marriage that Sal didn't know about and it was affecting her mother a lot so she left. I also think that she left, because she thought she wasn't like them and that she could never be good enough for them.
I think the reason that she left was because she was annoyed of her family and were she lived. Also because she probably she was not a part of Sal's life.
I think that Sal's mother left because she thought she wasn't good enough for Sal's father. In the book it says that Sal's mother cried over a flower Sal's father left for her and when she went to see him she said she was never good enough to be "A true Hittle". It also says that she said the same thing over and over.
Sal's mom left because taking care of a child needs a lot of responsibility and she is a little stress about it. She might haven't experience the life of being a mother and is a little difficult for a women who hasn't had a child before.

I think the reason she left was because she either A. had something to do in Idaho B. thought that she wasn't ready to be a mother or C. She was being stalked by the strange man and had to run away. Maybe all of these are true in a specific way. Maybe they're not. Either way this is a awesome story.
I think that Sal's mom left because she felt she couldn't be a hiddle because she thought she wasn't good enough to be a hiddle like she said in chapter 6 page 34. She also might of had a problem that she wasn't telling the family.

ReplyDeleteHow do you convey the thought of Salamanca's mother being bugged or annoyed from Salamanca and her father?

ReplyDeleteI agree with you Alec N. She might of gone to look for something in Idaho. She also might of had some things to finish in Idaho.
